Monica Madison is a proud mother of two sons, Kyle and Jordan. This is her first novel, which is loosely based on her life, loves and drama in her hometown of Mt. Vernon, NY. She has completed a screenplay, Sistahs Keeper, which Girl from the Gutter was adapted.
While working and attending to her studies at New York University, Madison started the Darnell Center for Kids, a non-profit organization where she took children to museums, parks and educational trips. The organization is in honor of her brother, Darnell Glandon. Shortly thereafter she made it her primary focus to educate herself on AIDS awareness by working closely with the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS.
Madison currently resides in Beacon, NY with her sons where she is working on her next novel, The Girlfriend Project as well as writing a screenplay with music producer, Kyle West.
